This is collection of software that I recommend, and install on Windows pc's when I reinstall the operating system.
This is not an all inclusive list. There are other software packages that I use, but don't always install on new computers.
I recommend these applications for removing and preventing virus and malware infections:
Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft's antivirus software.
Malwarebytes.org - Anti Malware software.
I recommend Libre Office for most word processing tasks. It is an open source alternative to Microsoft Office, which requires you to license their software.
Adobe Reader - Adobe Reader, still one of the best for opening PDF files.
VLC Player - The best I've found for video files. Plays pretty much anything that you can throw at it.
I recommend Teamviewer remote access software. You can use this software to connect, encrypted, to a remote system, and both the customer and the technician can view the screen. I use this software to support systems accross the US, and it has yet to fail me.
